Sometimes, we’re overwhelmed by the tasks put before us as Quality Process personnel. The pursuit of perfection can lead us to frustration, contempt and irritability. It’s at these points where it’s best that we take a step back from the situation and remember three important facts about quality.
- Quality is an infinite process. Any improvements you make in your process, your product or the processes of those around you is just that.. and improvement. This is why quality is a practice and not a science. No matter how good you get, you’ll always have room for improvement.
- Quality is not something that can be completed in a day. Sure, there are tasks that can be done quickly and adjustments made all the time, but there is no “done” to quality. See #1 for proof of that.
- Quality is something you are and something you do, not something you have to burn yourself up with. If you do your best and have a good attitude, the quality will come.
