Quality begins with the ability to relate information

by admin on November 8, 2007

Quality begins with the ability to relate information. Whether you are relating information on something you are observing to something that could be done or sharing your ideas of quality with others, the ability to communicate information is key.

One of the things I find to be incredibly helpful in a quality environment is to give everyone in your company a Quality Process Notepad. This will provide three major points of quality process for everyone involved.

  1. A notepad with quality concepts on every page will remind the user, no matter what they are writing, that quality, teamwork and customer relationships are the cornerstone of their quality process.
  2. By providing notepads to your coworkers, you are giving them an opportunity to share their thoughts on quality with you. I always make sure I have a method (like a suggestion box, for instance) available for anyone who wants to write a note with a suggestion or idea and drop it in. Since everyone has the same pads, it’s easy to make these notes anonymous.
  3. With a notepad available, people are more likely to take notes than they would if they had a large binder or a computer program. Anything small, simple and effective makes for an effective communication ool.

I’d highly recommend our QH106 Quality Process Notepad. These can be easily customized with your quality message, your quality manager’s phone number, a concept for quality in your environment or they can be left stock if you choose.
